The Challenge
Remote tank monitoring means deploying hardware in harsh, unattended locations for years at a time. The sensor needed non-contact measurement to avoid compatibility issues with tank contents, multi-year battery life to eliminate maintenance visits, and reliable data delivery over cellular networks in areas with marginal coverage.
The Solution
We designed and manufactured the complete product. Sensor driver firmware with extensive technology evaluation to select the right sensing approach. Low-power firmware architecture that squeezes years of life from a battery pack. LTE connectivity with robust retry logic for unreliable coverage areas. Cloud backend with real-time dashboard and analytics. The IQ-1 ships today and monitors tanks across multiple industries.
